Interview With Sourish Nath Founder of

This time I made a decision to interview Sourish Nath, a well known blogger who blogs at Sourish is the Founder and Editor of He is a talented guy who has written more than 700 useful and informative articles about Windows , Linux and Apple Gadgets . Do share your views about the interview .

1. We all know about you, formally give us a short introduction about you?

I am a blogger from Siliguri (now in Kolkata), trying to complete my Masters in Computer Application(MCA) along with blogging. Seems tough but blogging make it easy, since it has became my hobby.

2. Your Views about blogging ?

Blogging is a nice way to start up a website of your own and share your views with the world. WordPress blogs are easy to manage and takes just 5 minutes to setup. Every person who likes to write must have an online blog. If you don’t want to spend money on blogging, get a free blog on

3. When You started your blogging career and how?

That is one interesting question I would like to answer. I was introduced to blogging by Debajyoti(, though he might be unaware of the fact .I knew him on Orkut, when he had a huge community dedicated to orkut tricks & hacks , so I used to follow him. I started to notice that he was creating content in his blogger blog ( I thought he is wasting his time doing all these stuff , when he can actually copy paste things from other sites. One day i managed to have a chat with him, and came to know that he was actually making good money by implementing Google Adsense on his blog . That is when i started to look for blogging in details. Luckily i came to know some real good bloggers like Gagan from beepthegeek , Harsh Agarwal from shoutmeloud and read his inspiring blog posts about how he left his job to start a career as a professional blogger . So i started blogging seriously from june 2009.

4. Who is your idol and why ?

Well there is nothing like an idol , but i like to follow Mr. Amit Bhawani , because of the success he has achieved as a professional blogger . I like his writing and the way he explained the earning potential a hard working Indian blogger. He inspired me a lot with his $14k+ monthly income. Yes, i blog for money, but money is not the only thing behind blogging. I want quality content for the readers. Its like being a friend to them who wants to tell the best things first. So in my blog I want to tell them the best thing that interest them . They like them , they comment and that is a great morale booster .

5. What are you views about blog networks ?

Having a blog network is a good idea. I am trying to setup mine. Interlinking your own blogs(based on same niche) makes it useful for readers, just like Gawker media(lifehacker, gimodo, kotaku etc).

6. What do you prefer a blog network or a single blog and why?

Well i don’t feel like writing about the same thing everyday, having a network of blogs dedicated to different niches , helps you write about diff things, and not get bored at the same time . Also having small but targeted blogs helps reduce bounce rate to a great extent, since people find related content and stick to the blog for a long time.

7. Being a Student Blogger, Does Blogging affect your studies?

Well i am trying keep my schedule such that my studies help my blogging . Still im giving priority to blogging, cause i have already learned from books what i need to know. Bookish knowledge is of no use if you can’t implement it. I would rather implement it by myself, instead of being hired and working for another company doing the same job.

8. You are currently handling so many blogs, how does you manage things?

Well i have to keep away distractions like TV, Long phone chats, useless instant messenger chat, orkut etc. I like to interact with fellow bloggers and friends on facebook, but trying to minimize it much. Also i am learning to keep my working environment clean, that helps in keeping the work organized and easy . I also had talk about my work with my parents, so I can give more time to what I m doing.

9. How often do you spend time with your friends and family?

Well since I m at home all the time, I m with my family all the time. I am blogging for this reason , so i can stay close to my family. I have shifted from my home town, so there are not many friends here . In a way its good ,saves me a lot of time, which I can give to bloggging.

10. Do you have a girlfriend, whats your status?

Not engaged. I think any relation needs time. At the moment, I don’t have the time to maintain and build up a steady relation.

11. Whats your monthly revenue from your blogs?

I am not in a position to disclose the monthly revenue , but i guarantee , i will be in a position to tell you that by the end of this year. Just want to be stable first :). But yes , i am close to being a six figure earning blogger.

12. Is there any thing which you like more than Blogging?

Nothing more. My career is most important thing at this point of time, and bloggging seems to be it.

13. How doyou feel to see people respect you at such a young age?

Well it feels great, but then you have earned your respect. But i am trying to be more responsible with age, both for my family and my future.

14. What do you think about

It is a good effort. Any blog can reach great height with a year of hard work and dedication. But blogs everywhere , you need to target your niche and not mixup with the crowd. Write for a targeted traffic. Write for Google, write for your readers. Just dont write for yourself .

15. Some tips that you would like to share with our readers?

Learn seo, just dont jump in. Most bloggers leave blogging in the first 6 months Those who stick to it, cherish at the end. Also blogging is not for everyone so you could spend a lot of money and precious time on this. Know what you are doing. Only those who are desperate can be professional bloggers. Don’t forget to get a source of motivation, at hard time, you may want to quit, you motivation will then keep you alive.
