Convert Images To Icons And Vice Versa

Friends have you ever been persuaded by changed icons. Have you ever seen any computer that is having its user’s face instead of “My Computer” icon? Do you know how to do this? If not ,then this thing is not going to be secret for you anymore because after reading this post you will come to know how to do so.

What was actually behind that icon?

Friends basically that thing which you saw was previously not an icon, it was an image which was converted into .ico form (Icon Form). Then that image was set as icon for the My Computer.

How to convert images to icons?

For converting images into icons you are going to need a software called “Icofx”. It is easily available online for free! Click Here to download.

System Requirements for β€œIcofx” :

  • Microsoft Windows (R) 2000/XP/Vista/7
  • Pentium (R) or AMD Athlon – 600 MHz or more
  • True Color Video Card
  • 128 Mb RAM
  • 50 MB HDD

Steps for Converting an Image to Icon –

Step 1 : Open Icofx.

Step 2 : Using Explorer Tab locate the image ,which is needed to be converted.

Step 3 : Select the image.

Step 4 : Right Click on it and select “Batch Convert Images to Icon”.

Step 5 : Now, from the output directory locate the place where you want to place the .ico file.

Step 6 : Press OK and wait for one second then click close (after operation is completed).

Step 7 : Now Close Icofx and you will see .ico file of that image.

Step 8 : Now use it where you want.

To what other uses this software can be put?

Similarly this software can also be used to change icon files to image files and the best thing is you will get that image back into 10 different sizes! Isn’t it simply a great way to make your own icons?
